Dear Families,

Following the letter from Elizabeth Wilkinson, Chair of Governors, about Ivy Learning Trust’s support at Tower Primary School I would like to introduce myself. As Executive Headteacher of Tower and Lavender Primary in Enfield, I will be spending much of my week at Tower helping to establish policies and routines. I very much look forward to meeting with you and to building a strong partnership which will ensure your children receive the very best education. Below is a letter from Mrs Kerry McEwan, the new Associate Headteacher.  Please feel free to contact either one of us should you have any questions.

Ms Lesley Hill
Dear Parents and Carers,

I am delighted to be able to write my first letter as the new Associate Headteacher of Tower Primary School.  All the staff and children have made me feel very welcome and I feel privileged to be joining your school community. Being a mother of two children, I am passionate in ensuring that the highest standard of teaching and learning takes place and aspirations for your children are at the forefront.  Since my appointment, I have had the opportunity to visit the school and I am excited about the journey we are all set to embark on whereby your children will be ignited to learn. My priority as Headteacher is to ensure that Tower Primary becomes a school that children and families alike are proud to be a part of. Not only do I want to get to know the pupils, staff and school community this term but also begin to build an excellent team to work alongside me. This is to ensure we are able to meet the needs of your children to achieve their full potential in their academic, creative, personal and social development. Within the context of the schools current practice, our school has developed a set of core values which will underpin all the work we do. These values will have a huge impact as your child develops. They will help to deepen your child’s positive values and in doing so, help them consider the implications of their choices in relation to themselves, the communities from which they are part of and the wider world they live in.
I know how vital working in partnerships with parents is, in order for children to find school a positive and rewarding experience. I strongly believe achievement and enjoyment go hand in hand to ensure each child’s excellent progress.  I hope you will continue to support our high expectations in all areas, especially in behaviour and achievement. I am sure I will be meeting many parents in the near future in order for me to gain a wider knowledge of the parent community here at Tower Primary.  In the meantime, please do not hesitate to contact me as I believe in an open door policy, so if you have any queries, concerns or there is anything I can do to help support you and your child. I would like to thank you personally for your continued commitment and support towards the staff and pupils of this school and I look forward to getting to know you all.
Yours faithfully,

Kerry McEwan
