Welcome to First Steps Pre-School, we provide early years education for two and three year olds. We opened in January 2015 and are the first of its kind in Hertfordshire!
Our Pre-School is the last phase of building the successful Early Years Foundation stage of Tower Primary School.
Miss Jackoline Champion heads our team of highly qualified staff, we understand the development and needs of two and three-year olds and work within the EYFS curriculum. The three main areas the First Steps team work on are communication and language, physical development and personal, social and emotional development. With this understanding in place our children are able to learn and develop.
We have full access to indoor and outdoor learning and have our own self-contained garden where the children can choose from a different range of activities.
Our team have a fantastic working partnership with our parents and work very closely with the school and the local childrens centres.
We offer morning sessions and have spaces for September 2017.

Our mission is to take advantage of the unique moments that happen each and every day, by fostering the intellectual, creative, physical, social and emotional growth of First Steps children.
It is essential to provide and nurture a caring, cooperative environment that promotes cultural values and supports positive relationships. A place that allows children to 'play, learn and grow' through doing. Play is 'Children's Work' it is natural, essential and instinctive, where children learn to co-operate, express their feelings and frustrations, experiment, explore and communicate with others. First Steps strongly believe that learning is a process that lasts a life time.

“I cannot thank the staff enough at First Steps. They are second to none, nothing phases them or is too much trouble”. Wendy Cunneen
