It was fantastic to see so many families celebrating the children's achievement.
The First Step would like to thank each and everyone of you for making this special, and a huge thank you for your very generous gifts.
Our Summer term has been busy one and even in the hot weather our learning continued through play and small group time. The children also embraced our phonics time and learnt their Spanish, French and Mandarin numbers (1,2,3) and how to say hello.
Our Spring term has been a busy one, we've used our indoor and outdoor environments to learn and explore about our 'Once upon a time' theme. Have a look at what we have got up to.
Katie and Abby from the children's centre joined us on Friday 10th February. Katie read the Gruffalo story and the children made character hats. At the end of the session the children were all given bookstart packs to take home.
It was lovely so share a story and spend time with our neighbours at Westgate House.

On Monday 12th December and Thursday 15th December we invited our parents/carers in to join us for Busy Fingers. Our workshops were a huge success and we will continue them in the new year.
On Friday 9th December we had our Christmas party the children enjoyed a visit from children's entertainer Sally Squiggle and visit from Santa.
Join us for Busy Fingers on Monday 12th December & Thursday 15th December 9am-9.40am
All parents and children are welcome to attend the workshops. If your child is not in session that day, why not come along and join in the fun.
The children have been very creative over the last two weeks, some of the children helped with our fireworks wall display and others chose to make 'diva's' (tea light holders) for Diwali.
The children also made poppy's and some are displayed in our Pre-School windows, Miss Champion kindly brought in her father-in-laws medals for show and tell.
The children have enjoyed exploring in the new sand pit, they have been digging and building sand castles. Some children decided to take their shoes off and feel the sand between their toes, others like making shoe prints in slightly wet sand.
